King's Day festival
Introduction
The Royal walking route ends on Thursday 27 April on the Binnenrotte. The Binnenrotteplein will be renamed that day into a cozy King's Day festival site. With a free accessible program between 10:00 and 17:00. On a large stage there are performances all day until 5 pm by well-known artists such as Davina Michelle, Lee Towers, Ronnie Flex and Broederliefde.
The presentation of the King's Day Festival is in the hands of comedian Richard Groenendijk and Denice Dest, the maître of the popular television program First Dates.
The festival site opens on King's Day at 10 a.m. From 10:45 am, visitors can watch the NOS broadcast live on a large screen of the route that the Royal Family takes in Rotterdam between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. From 11.30 am DJ Willow, Ronnie Flex and Davina Michelle kick off the festive program on the big stage. Around 12.50 pm, the Royal Company arrives from the Markthal to the festivities on Binnenrotteplein. They are sung by various artists and a children's choir. And of course the Wilhelmus can be heard loudly here.
On stage, the King, his family and relatives say goodbye to the Rotterdam audience. But the festivities will of course continue for all Kings & Queens. Until 5 p.m. there will be various performances by Davina Michelle, DJ Willow, Broederliefde, Hermes House Band, Lee Towers, Ruwhel, The Rotterdam Drag Show and DJ Chico Rose, among others.
